Our Story
Empify is a social enterprise created to modify the way people perceive themselves and the role of money in their lives. There is often a pattern of generational poverty in many communities when instead, there should be a pattern of generational wealth in ALL communities. To create an economic change, Empify U, the 501(c) 3 organization under the EMPIFY brand was established. Together we create dynamic financial programs, events, and resources for our youth and those impacted by the criminal justice system. We have impacted thousands of individuals across the country by teaching the basic wealth fundamentals and pouring belief into communities through financial education, inspiration, and implementation.
Why Our Work is Important
One in four parents reported that they never or almost never talk to their kids about household finances.
Today, low-income students are four and a half times more likely to drop out of high school, and even those who are academically proficient are far less likely to complete college.
Black Americans have an annual spending power of $1.2 trillion, but unfortunately, their households only hold a median of $11,000 in wealth.
Americans owe a collective $1.54 trillionin student debt.
22% of children with some family poverty experience do not graduate from high school, a figure about three times greater than the 6 percent rate for children with no family poverty experience.
There are four components that perpetuate the wealth gap in America:

Community Public & Private Assets
Black families have not been able to build wealth due to “unmet needs and obstacles” across these four dimensions, and as a race they are on track to have a $0 net worth by 2053.
Our communities are not taught financial education, and that must change.

Empify U provides education, support, and resources to people & communities in need. We create unique programs, events, resources, and experiences that educate, empower, and modify the minds of the individuals and organizations we work with.
